   ocr: Chank - - ShellTrumpet THIS ORNATE TIBETAN - - trumpet, created from a chank shell, is a treasure of both nature and culture. The shell- the white part of the trumpet- was originally part of a marine snail (Turbinella pyrum) from the Indian Ocean. At an unknown date it was fished out of the sea and used as an item of trade, ending its journey in the mountains of Tibet.
